thing to adjust focus?

Hi, I'm trying to train dry firing my Blaser R8 in 300winmag with a S&B pmII 5-25*56

Inside the house the scope obviously does not focus, I'm living in a city and it's extremely awkward to have a point of aim somewhere outside, either at my neighbours or in the street. Perhaps you can imagine.

I once heard of an adaptor of some sort used to shorten the focus so I would be able to train indoors. I haven't been able to find it so perhaps I misunderstood.
Does such a device exist and if so, where would I be able to find it?
