Talley 2 piece rings

I'm planning on replacing the scope on my Sendero with a Vortex Viper HS-LR 50mm. I was seeing some of reviews saying that they are taller than what the same thing in like a leupold ring and bases are. So if that is the case should i use the medium? Will that give me enough clearance with butler creek caps on it?

Talley's are indeed taller than most other rings. I'd suspect that your 50mm will easily fit in mediums with butler creek caps on, but the only way to know is to try. I have a 6.5x47L on a borden action that I mounted a 56mm objective meopta in medium rings and it still has room for the slip on scope caps.
