Swarovski X5 Glass versus Z6 glass

What if any is the real difference? Besides the 5x vs 6x magnification, any reason not to choose the X5?

I like the weight, size and shape of the v6 over the x5 but the x5 glass is better to my eyes.
They are both very nice and I would be happy with either.

Both will have good enough glass. I would not trust the mechanics of the Zeiss. That's allot more important.

These are both swarovski products?
The x5 is more of a tactical long range scope, the z6 is more geared toward hunting
I have them both and they both work well for their intended use

Oh, I just realized he asked about the "Z"6
I thought it was the Zeiss "V"6, which is what I was commenting on.
Between the x5 and the z6 I would most definitely choose the x5 if I was dialing.
But I would and do choose the Zeiss V6 over both but that is a different discussion.

I have a Zeiss V4 no issues dialing and just ordered a V6.

X5 has a lot more elevation adjustment
Z6 is a lot lighter
X5 has better turrets
Z6 are capped turrets
X5 are more expensive
X5i are available with illuminated reticle

My Z6 scopes have the Ballistic Turret and Zero Stop

If there is no discernible difference in the glass for the X5 and Z6, I think I will try a X5 just for the better turrets.

The weight won't be an issue on the rifle this will be for, it will be wearing a Brux #5 contour barrel @ 26"
