I have 2 of them. One rem 700 short action and the other a vanguard long action. I bought blems and painted the camo myself. Are they AG or Manners or Mesa (I have those also), probably not quite. I like the weight and feel, and for the price they are hard to beat. As for the vanguard, it's the best option I have found.

Have one on a tikka t3x. Love it. There's going to be an even better version through Unknown Munitions by way of Stockys, so I'd wait if I were you until it's released.

Just bought one for a Savage LA. Very light and feature rich for the price. Got it on sale. There's not alot of premium options for Savage. Still waiting on a barrel and brake so it'll be a few months before I can give a better review. Overall, I am pleased with it .

Appreciate the info. I have a few rifles I would like to put a lighter stock on, and one Savage 12 I'd like to put a better stock on. I've been told to try them.
But will it have UM or Stocky's pricing?
Look at MDT...price is good quality exceptional
I own 4 Stockys, 3 carbon fibers and one composite (ordered wrong one). They do quite well and I'm very pleased.

I believe they said with a pic rail and cerakote they would run around high 500. But would be less if you didn't want paint or a rail. I'm guessing in the 400 range. Just generalizations though.

I got a flat top for my Model 70 LA 300 WSM. Finished stock weighs 1.5 lbs. The thread below illustrates my solution to the VG2's only reported short coming.

Did you have to do much work to get the actions to fit? Saw some posts elsewhere that mentioned needing to work the inlets a bit as they were not level and were a bit sloppy fit wise since they are more of a universal rather than specific to the action.

The inlet was fine on my tikka. Very tight fit, I've seen no reason to bed the action.

I have the Carbon fiber vg2 and I really like it. Wieghs and feels very balanced and rigidity is graet.I have other brands but stockys is hard to beat at the price point. I think the only downside would be that they are a little to smooth to the touch. I like a grippy feel like my hs precision but it hasn't effected the shoot ability just personal preference.
