Stock mod question

Morning, can someone tell me how much can I grind off the palm swell of a factory Rem 5R stock? I assume there is a "shell" of some type there? It feels too fat for me and unnatural...I think about 1/4 inch all the way around should do it. Thanks, kb

I'd not go hackin' away at that. I'd buy the HS in the style I wanted and sell that one. I don't care for 'palm swells', either.

I found the gelcoat is a good 1/8" thick in that area. I don't think you could remove 1/4" without weakening the fiber layer too much.
