For the first time since I've owned the rifle (30years) and maybe in its life (1941) it failed to set off a primer. Paying a bit more attention (dry firing) lock time feels sluggish. I ordered a Tubbs speedlock as a replacement. At any rate I started looking at all the various small springs in the mechanism, and wondering how everyone approaches springs, fix them when something quits working or scheduled replacement.
