Five of us went out late this afternoon to pick up steel from the church shoot we had this past Saturday.
It had been to wet to get out there till this afternoon. So we went out to shoot some steel and hopefully some unsuspecting pd's.
Two men and one high school boy had been unable to make it on Saturday, so we set up on the second landing and started working over the steel. Video was from my IPhone.
7mm SAUM XP-100, Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20 FFP with ART reticle, 162 A-Max
Left-Hand Rem 700 6.5x47 Lapua, Burris Eliminator 3, 130 Berger
Rem. 40X 308 Winchester, Mueller 4.5x14, 168 A-Max
My son set up on the 7SAUM while his friend used the 6.5x47 Lapua
Derrick shot the 40X
First couple videos they are shooting together @ 775 yards. We noticed especially with the wind that the 130 grain Berger was the hardest to hear, and if they shot at the same time, you couldn't hear it on the video for sure.
3rd video is with the 308 and the 4th one is the 6.5 @ 515 yards (You can hear the hit much better).
The SAUM has a Gen 1 Holland Radial brake, 6.5x47L has a Mac Brake, and the 308 has a Gen 2 Holland brake.
Everyone had a good time!

Ernie,

Wow, nice shooting.

If I ever end up down south and have the time I sure would like to try your new bipod.:D I also hope those 200 Hybrids sent your way work out with your new build.

With a rifle you slightly push forward and put tension/pressure/loading on the bi-pod. It helps you see your impacts easier too.
To date, I have never done that with a SP.
Nice videos, thanks for sharing!

btw, what does loading the bipod mean? Can you elaborate and advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks!
