Mike, that was the second stock that we got. They forgot to put the black in the first time and it was a regular rhino camo, but as this one turned out, I was after the darker, less stand out camo.

Re: Short Action Custom 260

If I could find some primers I would let you know. They are scarce around here and I can't find anyone that has them online. I'm sure it will shoot fantastic though, Mark puts out a top-notch product.

Re: Short Action Custom 260

I really dig that fluting. All in all a very fine looking and shooting rifle. 260 seems to be a popular round if you dont mind why did you go with the 260 rem? I have a .308 but I'm looking for alternative rounds to get my wife into LR shooting or practice for me. The 338 edge is cost prohibitive to shoot 5K rounds a year.

Re: Short Action Custom 260

Joe, we talked PM, but I will post here so everyone can see my reasoning and fascination with the 260. I, myself, have a 338 being built by Kirby, which I can't wait to get my hands on. I was looking for something to shoot cheaper and target shoot. I was able to shoot my friend's 260 and fell in love with it. The ballistics are amazing, and the recoil is very light for a flat shooter. My rifle weighs about 17.5-18 lbs and it recoils like a 223. Availability of components is also great. If need be you could size 308 brass down and turn the necks but there is a bunch of lapua 260 brass available right now. It is a very accurate cartridge.

Re: Short Action Custom 260

Finally got to test this gun out at long range, well ELR, especially at my altitude and this cartridge. I do not have any pics since there are ten people shooting the same set of steel targets. At 1100+ yards I am getting first round hits and very consistent hits on a 66% IPSC targets (12"x20"). The wind is very dynamic today (sustained at 10+mph with gust to 30 mph) so each shot is different, but overall, I would say she is shooting well.
