My wait is finally over and I'm quite excited to start fire forming and load development.

Donor action was a Tikka M695 in 270win. Actual was lapped/trued and faced off to add a recoil lug. It was mated up with a 24" Obermeyer 9 twist. I have the factory stock on it still for now, I need to bed the new recoil lug (just had a slot milled to accommodate it). Long term it may find its way into a fiberglass stock but the factory one isn't bad (a bit heavy though). Current configuration is 7lb-12oz for the gun/empty mag w/o optics, 9lb-2oz with the Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 (in Talleys) on it.

That's if for now, need to get forming loads put together and hit the range. gun)

Got some hurried rounds through the gun to form some brass and break in the barrel some. This is one of the better one, not too bad considering these are just forming loads that I picked a powder charge/seating depth w/o any refinement. Rifle is not yet bedded either.

What are your fire-forming loads, out of curiosity? I'm in the same phase with my 280AI. Thanks
Chuck

A few 140sierras to use up some leftovers, mostly some low cost 160gr (unlabeled federal fusion) with 51gr IMR4350 using some 9.5M primers I had. Little slow (just under 2600) but the brass is forming fine so likely no reason to try and push them harder, save that for the formed cases.
