Looking for opinions on a 7 Rem Mag in the Havak. Everyone has or wants the 6.5 PRC or 300PRC. I dont want either... I really think the 7mm is the sweet spot and dont want a 28 Nos. Really wish they would chamber a 7 SAUM. Just looking for people that have one or shot one to chime in and give me real world feed back as far as accuracy and overall opinion of the rifle. Thanks

I haven’t seen any results with the Havak in 7mm Rem Mag, but I have seen a lot of people praising them in 6.5 PRC. They seem like a solid option for a high end factory rifle. Good choice on the cartridge as well. 👍

I've be thinking about a 6.5 prc and rebarrel it to a 7 SAUM... But may as well start from scratch at that point IMO

To be honest, I would build a semi custom if it were me. Get yourself a Remington 700 action, get a good barrel Brux, Bartlein, Benchmark, etc, a good stock HS, Grayboe, Manners, a good trigger Timney or TriggerTech and send the parts to a good smith or gun shop and have it built in whatever caliber you want.

The problem with that is it doubles the cost basically. And not to mention finding all the parts in this current 2A state wouldn't be real easy. I'd like to just have an out of the box rifle that I don't have to wait for either

Then get a good factory 7mm Rem Mag. You can build a semi custom for $2500 or less. I can find all the parts in stock right now. Send it to Pierce Engineering in Lansing, MI.

I have a local gunsmith. And I have several custom rifles. Im just thinking this would be a easy way to put together a light hunting rig. My current hunting rig is a Curtis Vector with Proof carbon barrel in 6.5 SAUM. But it also doubles as match rifle to with a quick barrel swap. But I'm just to the point where I want a designated hunting rig that's fairly light

For the Seekins.....
Yes it is an up charge. But the plus side is
You get a warranty & shooter guarantee.
Quality components, great customer service. All worth considering.
I'm thinking I could live with a 7 Rem Mag... Will kill anything I'm ever going to hunt in North America. I just mainly want to see if there were many people shooting the 7mm Havak and if they were happy they went that route

Total parts cost: $1460 or so plus taxes and shipping. So probably around $1600

Labor for barrel and muzzlebrake should be around $350 and bedding the stock will be around $200. So you’d have about $2200 in it complete. That would be with a Bartlein barrel and good parts.

I am running a long throat 7RM, 3050 fps with a Berger 180. A great Elk, deer, and bear gun. Lots of options for brass and lots of loading info. I like " Keep It Simple"
