I've been looking at a couple scopes with the mil-dot cross hair and I have a question..." what power setting do you use to determine the mil-dot reading?" Don't know if the question makes any sense.

If its FFP(first focal plane)then its the same at any power setting ,if its a SFP (second focal plane) then it should be stated in the owners manual.A lot are based on full power. I have a bushnell 6500 2.5x16 thats true at 10x.
What scopes are you looking at?

SFP or FFP reticle, you need to check it. Don't just take the manufacture's word either way.

I am looking at the Burris Tactical Xtreme, Leupold MK II & MK4, and the Bushnell 6500....Nightforce, Huskemaw....window shopping for now until I make up my mind.
