Exactly. 3 inches at 400 yards is like adding an unknown 4 mph FV wind. Why would you ignore that?
 
Those UM Rings look cool. I have a Tikka long range rig with a Spuhr 4616 cantilever mount. It has a level built in to the base but it is hard to see when on the rifle. Super solid set up but it isn't cheap.

 
Wow! When I started this thread I had no idea it would bring such fruitful discussion. I am beyond pleased and appreciative.

I am truly shocked on how many different options there are. Early on I found what worked for me and never strayed. Every single rifle I have has the same rings, rail, and scope level. This way I don't have to remember new process when I get behind a different rifle.

I also use a plumb line and square everything through techniques mentioned.

I'm not any closer to deciding which set up I'll go with yet, however all this discussion has given me a bunch of options to research.

I have only used a clamp on Burris bubble for my B14R in front of my turrets and it's nice to see it with my non dominant eye without coming off the stock. Having a machinists level available is a great tool for doing setups. I am wondering if anyone has put an accuracy first level on a rig that say had Spuhr bubble rings to see how good these really small levels can be that are either on rings, chassis, or rails. How do they compare? I would expect that the Accuracy First bubble is the most sensitive non electronic option out there.
 
The Spuhr QDP-4616 is a 34mm quick-detach cantilever scope mount designed for long-range shooting and has 6 MIL/20.6 MOA cantilever angle and a centerline height of 1.5 inches (38mm). It anchors to the Picatinny rail of my Tikka T3X Tactical A1 rifle and is flawless. The base of the mount neatest my eye has a built-in bubble-level that is obscured. So, I affixed a scope-mounted Flatline Articulating bubble-level to see and prevent cant.
The Tikka rifle and Kahles 525i DLR scope are a dream-team!
OneHundredConcepts.com scope covers protect both ends of the Kahles scope and quietly open and close to prevent dust and position-revealing glare.

Controversial I know, but I think they're a gimmick. I'm sure someone smarter than I will be along to correct me and I'm always open to learning/suggestions. I 100% believe it may give you a slight edge on elr shots, but 100 - 200 yard shots out of you climber it doesn't make a lick of difference.

I don't disagree with your point. However, many of us are always looking for anything to improve and reduce variables that can introduce precision issues. I have found the bubble level does help me improve my form when practicing. Muscle memory is something we can benefit from when in the field.

I did a test for the PFI after my FBI Sniper school 20 years ago where I shot at the same point of aim and canted the rifle about 22 degrees, firing one round up to 90 degrees in both left and right angles, 10 rounds total. The point was to demonstrate how cant will impact POA vs POI if the rifle is not level. Scope height was 1.6 which plays a role. I shot the group at 100, should have done another at 200 which would have made a much larger POI change. The farther your target the more true vertical matters.

scope cant induced deflection is a function of how much bullet drop you have

a = angle of cant
b = bullet drop
c = horizontal deflection

a(sin) x bd = c
