Anybody have a suggestion for sending a vintage Redfield 4x12 with AO for repair? The AO is jammed and will not turn and the objective lease appears to need internal cleaning. I tried Iron Sight and they are a year out on repairs. Any other suggestions appreciated.

Those old Redfields have locking AO's on them. Make sure the locking jam ring is not just tightened up on it.

This seems to be the problem and with the scope mounted I can't turn the ring. I reckon I'll remove it and see what I can do. I still needs to be sent for internal cleaning, gas purging, etc so that'll be next.

If you have a fungus on the internal lens, there may not be a fix - it can etch the glass. It sounds crazy, but camera lenses, microscopes, binoculars, spotting scopes and rifle scopes can get it. The YouTube guys that show how they "fixed" it, never show close ups because it's not that easy.

Googling lens fungus will bring up 100 articles on it.
