I've recently acquired a savage 110 precision 338 Lapua and I'm wanting to change the bolt body to a fluted body. My question is will a standard long action bolt body work or do I need one specialized for the 338 LM?
Why not just send the current bolt for fluting?I've recently acquired a savage 110 precision 338 Lapua and I'm wanting to change the bolt body to a fluted body. My question is will a standard long action bolt body work or do I need one specialized for the 338 LM?
No one close by that does it and price wise it's just as cheap or cheaper than having original bolt fluted. Glades has a long action fluted bolt body for $100 and has exceptional reviews, but not sure if it'll work. Why not just send the current bolt for fluting?
That's why I said send it for fluting. Depending on who is doing it, the price is ~$100 (Kampfeld Custom). There are plenty of members here who have used Kampfeld for their fluting needs. No one close by that does it and price wise it's just as cheap or cheaper than having original bolt fluted.
