Savage LA - Old version - 6.5 PRC?

I haven't run the serial yet but I bet it is at least 40 years old. My 53 year old 110 is a large shank too.

Savage came out with the large shank in 2002 so don't see how yours could be 53 years old unless they made some before
that...don't think they did.

Wbm, see above. I screwed up terminology somehow. Its standard shank absolutely! I even replaced barrel on it last year as such and somehow got brain cramp.

OK, now I need to look at the 6.5/284 for sure. Much easier conversion and bolt head stays same.
I have had 7. It's a great cartridge. Use a slower powder and you'll get decent speeds. Ran mine with 28" barrels at a safe charge and 3015-3030 with 147's

I wish I was computer literate but alas i am old . I built my 6.5prc on a 110e action. Rechambered a 6.5 creedmoor barrel, bought a new bolt head (maginum) and firing pin assemblely , ground index on bolt body. It shoots better than me, .562 at 200 yards.

I am just getting into my old 110E .270 and after I play around with it, I am leaning towards a 6.5-06.
