Savage 22lr trigger replacement

So, I enjoy trigger time more than most. I have a savage 22lr that has an accu trigger. I struggle with it, with every trigger pull. I am not seeing a Timney or Giselle trigger. Other that Basix is their another option? I like Timney triggers, I like to practice with what I already have. Never used basix triggers are they crisp? Anyone ever use and have thoughts they would like to share, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Not on a 22, but a buddy has a Rifle Basics trigger and likes it. Does Canjar make a trigger for it?

Bought my son a model 25 222 with accutrigger a while back. Trigger was inconsistent. Had enough side to side and front to back play in it, that if your finger didn't pull perfectly straight back, the accurelease would hang up. Inconsistent pull And not crisp.

The trigger pivot pin from the factory was way undersized, causing the front to back slop. There was a lot of space in the sides of the trigger, causing the side to side slop. Fixed the 2 issues, and smeared all bearing surfaces with powdered graphite.

Reduced pull to minimum and achieved consistent 2.5-2.6 pull. No longer hung up.
It has been very crisp.

12 years later still works very well.

But if you don't like the 2 stage feel, Basix or Jard.

There are a LOT of kits to improve the Accutrigger, and a lot of videos and instructions on how to do it.
Replacement pins, shims, springs, you name it.
A bit of Flitz and a buffing wheel on a Dremel tool can help smooth some surfaces as well..

I can get Clay on the phone as soon as I call in. Try one, I am positive you will like it. It has been a great upgrade for my Savage Accu-Trigger and non-Accu-Trigger rifles, along with CZ, Remington and a Marlin or two.

I agree. Every one I know that has used the Basix triggers has been more than satisfied. Simple, solid replacements that work. If you aren't comfortable working on the accutrigger,?go the Basix route.

Believe it or not, I made the new pin out of a scope ring screw wrench. I think the shims I got from briwnells.

I really don't like anything under 2.5 lbs for any hunting rifle, but there are spring kits out there if you want something different.

You can make it a great trigger. But the biggest question is if you like the 2 stage feel. If not don't waste time or money trying to improve accutrigger, just get a rifle basix.
