Russia using Hornady ammo

have acquired hundreds of thousands of rounds of .388 caliber ammunition made by an American company called Hornady

specified for the same .388 Lapua Magnum rounds

But the .388 Lapua Magnum was not designed for hunting

This is some sort of botched attempt at creating news...

Interesting, because a 7.62 "Russian" and a 7.62 Nato is not the same diameter. The same holds true for all the Russian Calibers. Unless they specifically acquired or manufactured .338 Lapua Rifles, Russian firearm calibers are totally different. Its they way they measure. 7.62 Russian for example is closer to a .311 not a .308. Just an example. I can't see how Western Bullets can work in Russian firearms

C'mon Man lets not let facts get in the way of this awesome story. lol

The Daily Caller article is a summary of, and link to, a Politico article. Politico was a big pusher of the whole RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! sham. Looks like Politico looked at some Russian import papers on a Russian government site that said a Russian company "planned" to purchase bullets and empty cartridges from Hornady. It does not say that the Russian company "did" buy them. Big difference.

This is nothing more than a left leaning political website trying to punch a respected American ammo manufacture in the nose. Hornady has a USA Goverment contract for military grade ammo for the 6.5 Creedmoor sniper rifle. Doubt seriously the are selling ammo to the Russians....

Quote from Politico: ""In a "declaration of conformity" filed with a Russian government registry and dated August 12, 2022, Promtekhnologiya stated that it planned to source a batch of 102,200 Hornady lead bullets for the assembly of "hunting cartridges" used in "civilian weapons with a rifled barrel." The specifications — .338 Lapua Magnum bullets weighing 285 grains — match those of a product in the Hornady catalog.""
