Rifle rest options

Okay, I have 2. I have a 50+ year old Hart rest and a more recent Sinclair.

The Hart is convenient, only 12 pounds, and stable .and I can pick it up by the rest., but the downside is the adjust ability is cumbersome.

The Sinclair weighs a ton, is much easier to adjust, but all else is equal to the old Hart.
A friend is considering one and likes my Sinclair but not the weight. What else s out there? (the gimmick style lead sled rests are out of the question) and preferably under 15 pounds.

so far, the Caldwell is looking like the best choice, but wonder what you guys are using.

The Sinclair is a far better rest than the Caldwell.
Look around Benchrest and F C;*** pages and find yourself a used Neo.

Agreed, I don't even own a front rest, just half a dozen bipods and various sandbags

We were very LUCKY to have Mr. Bob Pastor make us on rof his custom front rests. It was the LAST ONE HE MADE!

Thread 'My New "F" Class, BR. ELR Viper rest'

I wanted to share the custom "VIPER" shooting rest for "F" Class, BR, & ELR that was made for Jill & I. It can be used in prone on ground with the special feet to plant into the ground. It can also be use off a bench by changing the feet. A good friend of ours - Mr. Bob Pastor made this special for us. The rest is used with a Protektor Model 3" front bag and a Edgewood Gaterbag Rear Shooting Rest Bag.
When you shoot off of this rest your rifle is soo steady that it is like shooting with the rifle in a vise. Improved my accuracy (which is hard to believe)-HAHA. Micro adjustments...

For my casual shooting a bipod & a squeeze bag works. I don't need to tote a rest & heavy rear bag, every thing is attached to the rifle & fits in bag with shoulder strap.
