Hi guys,
i find it interesting that people often times will say you cannot load retumbo in the 300 magnum with anything lighter then a 200 grain pill....

Why is that when they (hogdon) has provided published data in the 7mm for 168 grain projectiles?

I have wanted to test this, just wanted to hear others opinions.

why can't you use 180's in a 300win with retumbo? just use 200gr data.... that's what we did years back with my brother's rifle... I personally use rl22 in mine...

Good to hear.

I'm just about to run out of my stash of reloader 22 so i may give it a try.

i just found it interesting how peoples views were so contradicting.

I guess there's a reason they dont have published data for retumbo w/180's in 30 cal....just weird.

there's likely no reason other than publishing space or time to do load evals... They simply can't post all combinations... They go for popular and best and call it for the most part.

I've loaded 178grn a-max with retumbo out of 300win mag. Got about .75moa at 100yrds savage stevens. Gun shot good with this. I just forgot the load data for the retumbo charge. I think I used the same load data for a 180 grain bullet that was very similar. I just remembered I still have about 30 of those loaded up. They were basically just some ammo to go and practice shooting with.
