For sale is a Remington Model 700 chambered in 28 Nosler. This rifle is a new build and has only had a test round fired through it. The chambering was done by Barry Davis owner of Micro Group Gunsmithing which builds most of the top benchrest guns here in the four corners area. Here is a list of the components used.

  • The receiver is a stainless steel Remington 700 LA that began life as a 700 LA DMB-B. Action has been completely blueprinted.
  • Bartlein SS fluted 1-8 twist #3B barrel finished at 26".

  • Vais Micro Muzzle Brake.

  • Holland Recoil Lug

  • H-S Precision stock built for the Remington DBM system.

  • Shilen Trigger set at 2.5 lbs but can be set down to 1.5 lbs or even lower by competent gunsmith.

  • Barreled action was bedded into stock using Devcon 10110 steel putty.

  • Barreled action was cerakoted in a matte black.

  • H-S stock was sanded and cerakoted in Magpul Flat Dark Earth.

Price is $2400 delivered to your FFL.

I also have the following items available separately for this rifle if interested. Dies and brass will only sell separately from rifle only after rifle has sold. Until then the components will stay available for rifle buyer. $350 for everything listed below.

  • Redding 28N shellholder

  • Redding Type S Match 3 Die Set 38790

  • 75 pieces of new Nosler 28 Nosler brass

  • 25 pieces of new Nosler 26 Nosler brass

Questions about rifle can be asked here. This is my fourth 28N build and I also have had rifles chambered in its twin brother the 7STW so I can probably answer most questions about loading and shooting this chambering.

PM me if you would like pictures. I will try to post pictures here tomorrow once I get back home.

Above is a picture of the rifle taken this morning.

Here also is answers to a few questions.

Weight is 8 lbs 12 oz.

Chamber is throated with a reamer built to my specs and will work with the 195 Berger. In the past I have always had my reamers built to a sample round sent in to reamer maker. I used to always seat the bullet where the boattail / bearing surface junction was at the shoulder / neck junction on the case for this sample round. This allowed full use of the neck to keep the loaded round concentric and allowed me seat out longer as needed with throat wear. I realized with my 7STW's where seating depth length was critical do to OAL limitations that the last 1 to 2 grains of powder made very little difference in velocity and usually my powder / accuracy node was at a lower charge weight and velocity anyway so I decided to make the sample round shorter in OAL length to give me more room to make seating depth adjustments. In the end I found that I was still able to get the same velocity or close to it and ran all of my 7STW builds this way with great success. With the 28N I carried this over knowing that with the same case capacity the velocity node would probably be the same so I seated my sample bullet - 195 Berger deeper in the case to allow for much more room to seat out longer as the throat eroded if needed. I am still able to seat the 195 at 3.60" OAL and reach my 3000-3040 fps accuracy window.
