I want to start reloading for the 6.5x55 Swede and have some questions regarding real world velocities. I have a Remington 700 semi custom rifle with a bartlein 22" barrel. With a modern action is it feasible to push 140gr bullets near 2850-2900 FPS? Or push 125-130gr copper bullets near 2900?

Look for "Favorite 6.5 swede load" on this forum its not much but its a start. Good luck

Yes it is quite feasible.
I had a 24" barrel, 4 groove Carl Gustaf military barrel that was extremely accurate and quite fast with modern powders. Even the military Swedish 139 FMJ Spitzer ammo was fast, it clocked 2799fps in my rifle, it was only supposed to be doing 2750fps in a 26" barrel.
I was using H4350, H4831, RE19 & RE22 mostly. My rifle was superbly accurate with 125gr Partitions and 140gr BT's. I believe the Accubond would now be awesome in this cartridge, I have a soft spot for it, maybe I'll build another in the near future.

Cheers.

I'm using H100v with 142LRAB in a military barrel 24" with can and screened it the other day at 7 degrees and was 2668 no pressure but very accurate am looking to screen again at 90 degrees to see what happens

My load is
H4831sc @ 47.5gr
Fed 210m
Lapua brass
140 berger hvld
2800fps
Benchmark barrel @ 24"
Pushed it to almost 2900 before pressure which is over book max so use caution. Thinking of switching to h1000.

As you can see, several are already there, or, above 2850. I'm using IMR4350 and the 142 LRAB and got my most accurate loads at 2800 so I never went for a max. The day I shot that load, I had 3 more loads above that ready to try. Ended up pulling them and loading them all with the load that put 4 in a .3 inside-to-inside group.

Accuracy trumps speed in my book.
