Looking for some quickload help. I'm looking for a starting point for a 284 win with 145 Cutting edge Lazers. I've got VV560, vv565, rl23, rl26, h1000, retumbo, h4831sc, h4350 and a few others. My rifle is built on a long action with .220 freebore. Any help is great appreciated.

Tagging in. I have a 284 but it's on a SA unfortunately. Going to try the 140 AH.

OK Rusty, Most of the powders you listed are too slow burning for the case. You just can't get enough in there and end up with low pressure and low speed, <2700
The only cutting edge 145 was MTH so I used that. Speed is for my 22" barrel. Loads shown at 105% case fill were not max pressure but limited by case capacity. 105% is all you can get in a case. Bolt action only! Back off the MAX loads at least 10% to start. these are quick load calculations based on info you gave me, NOT tested data. Powders in the 4350 burn rate yield best speed and efficiency for the 284.

RL-23, 54.0 gr, at 105% case fill = 2777 fps
RL-26, 59.3 gr, at 105% case fill = 2971 fps
H-4350, 53.3 gr, at 104% case fill = 2899 fps, MAX 63,000 psi
N-560, 56.5 gr, at 105% case fill = 2856 fps
N-565, 56.6 gr, 105% case fill = 2654 fps
RL-16, 53.0 gr, 104% case fill = 3015 fps, MAX
RL-17, 54.3 gr, 99% case fill, = 3026 fps, MAX
N-550, 53.4 gr 100% case fill = 2958 fps, MAX

Ok thanks. I've got a great load with rl23 and 175 elite hunters right now. Just wanting to play with a mono to see how they do.
Thanks again for your time and information.

I actually just went back and checked I looked at my Winchester brass data not my Peterson data, the fired h2o case capacity. It's actually 65.1 average on the Peterson brass.

Sorry for the wait Rusty, been a busy day. Considering the new water capacity here is the new data. Remember, 105% case capacity is max capacity so these loads are under max pressure. all others are max pressure according to quickload.

Reloder 23, 58.0 gr, 105.7% case fill, 2886 fps
Reloder 26, 63.5 gr, 105.3% case fill, 3087 fps
Reloder 16, 55.5 gr, 101.6% case fill, 3047 fps, MAX LOAD!
Reloder 17, 56.7 gr, 96.4% case fill, 3048 fps, MAX LOAD!
H-4350, 56.4 gr, 102.8% case fill, 2950 fps, MAX LOAD!
N-560, 60.5 gr, 105.5 % case fill, 2970 fps
N-550, 56.0 gr, 97.7% case fill, 2993 fps, MAX LOAD!
