Lonnie mentioned his 7 prc is tracking pretty similarly to a standard barrel. Maybe this technology doesn't work well with over bore rounds. I'm really curious what the 7 prc does. I will keep testing and hope 80 grains shoots 2950 and the barrel speeds up.

My Factory Xbolt 28 Nosler barrel moved .100" in 400 or 500 rounds. It has a new barrel now lol.

Range update:
I cleaned the barrel very well and was hoping it would speed up. Well it did. Loaded 80.5 grains which is very close to the standard 28 Nosler load. Did a seating depth test and .015 off shot great. 2930 with an ES of 12 for 6 shot group. This was (2) 3 shot groups 20 min apart.

Dang that looks much better and running about regular speeds as well for a 22". I think I was 81gr N570 for 3050fps in my 26" 28 Nosler
Sooo…are we swaying towards believing or still up in the air?

94 rounds. I think they can't lap these barrels so it did speed up 110 fps. I'll measure the throat again. I'm happy with what the barrel is showing now. It definitely won't run the higher

That group is decent for sure, interested to see what the throat measures now. Even if it's only double the barrel life it's starting to look like this barrel might be worth the added cost if the precision is there, it costs less in the end than 2 barrels and labor twice would? My standard barrel 28's took 100-110 rounds to finish speeding up and realistically that is probably 25% of it's precision life. And that sucks when you are looking at around a thousand bucks to get a new standard barrel that is only going to give you 300-400 rounds of it's best capability. I'd love to have a 28 that I could take out and bang steel with for fun. 160ish grain bullets at 3400 don't drop a lot and don't give the wind a lot of time to push them around lol.
