pre loading bipod

Hello,
I wasnt sure where this question should go so here it is.

The other day I was reading older posts on the forum about page 135 somewhere her (cant find it now) and the discussion was on accuracy (of course)
One member responded with "are you pre-loading your bipod"
I havent heard this term used and was looking for a quick explaination of what that means.

I have an idea of what it means but looking for your thought

Just dig your toes in and push forward a bit to remove all slack. This will allow you to feel the recoil pad on your shoulder and put a small amount of forward pressure against the legs of the bipod. This method works real good with a Harris.
