Hi guys,

Ive jus been given an old Browning A5 with a Power Pac choke on the end - any idea's if this would be safe for steel? My son is keen to use it for duck shooting here in NZ which is only a week away - we'd only be using 2 3/4" shells - there's a gap between the end of the barrel and the Power Pac of approx 1". Any thoughts?

Probably a little late now but first off you definitely don't want to use a full choke with steel shot and secondly the material in which it's made of for its age (probably the 50's) won't hold up to steel shot. I would recommend taking it to a gunsmith and have it fitted with modern choke tubes if you plan on using it. Also I don't think there should be a gap between barrel and choke.
