Powder for 6.5RPM?

Had a friend give me 2 lbs of 7828,1 of regular 1 ssc.Started using the reg.with 264Win Mag data.I am up to 61 gr ,no sign of pressure, wondering though if I should start using mag.primers since I am over 60 gr.?Any thoughts.
don't think it'll make any difference other than maybe give a other 10-20fps.

I haven't worked up a load with the 142s. With the 130 gr. Sierra TGK my RPM liked the N 560 and H1000. Reloder 26 was a little faster but my rifle grouped the N 560 and H1000 better. Edit...fyi I'm using Fed 215 M primers too.

Using BR-2 primers I'm up to 68.5 grns of Retumbo behind the 142's running 3050'/s at 0.99 moa. Currently addicted to 69.3grns of Retumbo behind 135gr ATips producing 3230'/s, 0.75 moa at 200yds (sd 7) in a Backcountry Ti MK V. Getting ready for a hunt last week it turned a coyote inside-out at 75yds and did close to the same at 125 yards on the runner, missed the 3rd at 150ish. Very impressed with the rifle, not so much with factory ammo. 7828 was also looking good until I decided to use Retumbo since it makes up about 80% of the powder around here. Necks are a little sooty compared to 7828; would like to try RL25.

I got to 62.5 gr of 7828 and started to flatten the primer a little going up a point at a time now.
140gr acubonds standard rifle primers.
Got 400 GM215M's from my elk hunting buddy,so will switch to them as soon as I stumble onto RL25

I know this is an old thread, but would like to know starting load with N560 as I just got 6.5 RPM and have 560 and 7828.

I finally got a couple lbs of RL25, Weatherby had data from Wolf Publishing that said 66 gr RL would give 3074.
I was able to get over 3100 with 64.7 ,but that was showing signs of excess pressure so I back off to 64.5 /142 Accubond LR

I've just started loading for the 6.5 RPM. I've had good results with N568 for 129 gr ABLR. My load pushes this bullet to 3143 ft/sec from a 22" barrel. Accurate and temp stable. I've been able to find N568 recently.

I'm just starting to work out a load for the Barnes 127 LRX with N568. Will be shooting some tomorrow. I really like this bullet.

If you have RL-26, that should work fine as well. I'd much prefer RL-26 over RL-25, if it will work for you. I like the temp stability of RL-26.

Let us know how you do..

Husky user, I just ran a few numbers on QuickLoad for RL-26. Looks like it is not the best fit, not as good as RL-25. Plus you have load data for that powder which is a real plus. (Are you Husky user because you fly the Aviat Husky? Great mountain capable tail dragger!).

340 in Va, QL predicts that N560 should be a good fit as well.

No its because I raced Husqvarna motorcycles in Moto Cross and I have 4 Husqvarna rifles!
I have settled on RL 25 for the 140s and 7828 for lighter bullets (HH 124s)
