Just ordered a weatherby vanguard s2 stainless. To start with I am planning on buying factory ammo because 20 brass cost just as much as a preloaded box. Once I use those up I am going to start reloading. I will be using 100 gr barnes ttsx. What powder will be the best? Thanks

+1 on 7828. I tried R22, R25 and 7828 in my .257 Wby. 7828 consistently performed the best of the three, providing velocities as good as the other two and greater accuracy.

imr7828, rl25, h1000, rl22, h4831, retumbo. That being said, in my .257bee i got best velocities with 7828, best accuracy with h1000. just started playing with the retumbo in it with decent results so far. These were with 110 accubonds and 110 interbonds. Have not tried the barnes yet.

RL22 with the 75grain Vmax
H1000 110 Accubonds
RL 25 117 SST's

Here are the powder/bullet combo's that work in mine.

Have fun.
