Polishing the rifling

So I am wondering what compound to use . I am putting together a couple of Savage Axis for the grand daughters for deer hunting there are some rough spots tooling marks I would like to clean them up to help with copper fouling and ez of cleaning

If they are NEW Barrels you can have them "LAPPED". Probably be best to send to someone. The process is done by pouring hot Lead that is mixed with a Lapping Compound into the barrel. Lots of videos on the internet.

You can do an easier way by "Fire Lapping" Tubbs have Lapping Bullets.

I know I have used tubes in the past . The only problem is that my parents sold the house and are adding on to the cottage so the reloading equipment is not set up. Might have to check a few things out thanks for your help

If it's a typical Savage button barrel, nothing short of a grinder will clean it up. This Savage 110 shoots fine.

I'd scrub them a bit with JB paste and shoot a few boxes through them, cleaning occasionally. You might run a group through each rifle to see if it shoots before you even hit it with JB. If it shoots and doesn't foul, why bother.

I suggest you forget the bore scope and fire it. I have seen Savages go about 1/2" for three shots right out of the box with the first load.
