You seen what come out of MN lately, MR. Pencil Vania?
"The brother-sister duo have dreamed about hunting elk in Minnesota for years. In 2023, they drew once-in-a-lifetime licenses and in recent days, each of them shot a bull. Przekwas' elk was nontypical with 10-by-11 antlers and Peterson's elk had a 7-by-7 rack."

7x7 has a reported green score of 375 and the 10x11 is 414 with 14" circumference on the bases.

Boom. 🙃

That is prehistoric there. lol

I am blown away that they brought the elk out (on a long extraction) whole. And then loaded it whole in the truck. I have never been on an elk hunt that didn't require at least quartering, most also needed de boneing to get them back to the truck!

In my experience up in the elk woods of PA - a lot of the outfitters will get the elk out while on skids / sleds pulled by various types of draft horses. The elk are enormous specimens to be moved any length of distance whole, but once those horses are harnessed it is a sight to see. I've never seen the process of getting them into a pickup, but imagine there is some decades old backwoods magic for such activity.

To that extent - I've also had the pleasure of seeing multiple Maine bull moose loaded whole (on trailers). Cable, a pulley, and a dually can do some very quick work.

I love seeing the photos, Frank! I'm occasionally getting some photos and videos from a Buddy who is up there now getting ready for guiding some rifle hunters next month. He's been out in the woods quite a bit and we've got some good videos and pictures.
