Our 2nd Amendment Rights

The Venezuelans are the poster children for what happens when Socialist Governments divest the people of their weapons. They have zero chance to pressure the government into reforming the country, when the so called "leaders" and the Army have taken all their weapons. Rocks and smoke bombs won't cut it against armed troops.

Our own country is fighting the Socialists' first step, to disarm the citizens. The fact that the Constitution gives us the right to arm ourselves, means nothing to those who constantly seek power and ultimately total control of our daily lives. The only reason they have failed is the power of an armed militia with the power of the 2d Amendment and a love of freedom.

It would awaken those American Socialists on the fence, to spend one week in Venezuela and see the angast of the common people, as they are now reaping the "benefits" of socialism. Perhaps, those Americans, "into socialism for the freebees" would sober up and see the end results. As for the those who are the power hungry "true believer", there is no hope.

It seems popular these days to flop around the word socialism or call somebody a socialist, like it's a bad name or something. Anybody that picks up or has ever picked up, a social security check or any farmer that has taken a farm subsidy, is a SOCIALIST, as in, they support a socialized policy, much like we all pay into our national defense system, the soldiers that we all thank for their service. I could easily name other socialized policies. Just keeping it accurate here because many inaccurately equate socialized policies with communism. As long as we fail to break our words down, the struggle over 2A rights and many other issues will continue as a fight between two ignorant extremes.

One more thing...I met my first "head full of mush" as my dad calls them about two weeks ago.

She is white, most likely some college education. She was practicing her spanish with a Colombian women. I was busy working on something when I heard the white women apologize for being born "white and privaliged". Well I jumped up from what I was doing to be gin my lecture! I told her she has nothing to apologize for and I told her she sounded like a weak hearted democratic!

Her reply shocked me even more! She told me how she wished to live in a communist country, how she wished the government would take care of her.

We work with a large number of Cuban's so I suggested she talk with them. Her reply was "no...no...I don't want to live under a dictator. I want to live in a Communist Government!" I told her they are the same thing!

She looked puzzled...lol...she also said she didn't feel like she would live very long...I thinking she might be right because I wanted choke her as it was!

Now the most scary part...there are millions just like her in the NE and California!

When the new democratic party takes over the white house, I hope Texas will pull out of the union. We at least have a little hope.

Scary days ahead men!

This post supports why I am shocked that our president and his daughter, and so many American businesses, many of which have owners that hate communism and socialism, do so much business with communist china! Just shocked. My point, as to 2A rights, is that money is at work here and many times goes against our core American values.

I like the GunPhobes argument that the 2nd was written during times of the muzzle-loading Musket while ignoring the fact that the muzzle-loading Musket was THE most awesome shoulder-fired Weapon on the entire planet . They then argue for a ten round limit to magazines while ignoring the FACT that the Henry Rifle and shortly thereafter the Winchester 1866 and 1873 held 16-18 rounds that could be fired in rapid succession. Rebel Troops that faced the weathering fire of the Henry called it "the gun you load on Sunday and shoot all week". But my absolute favorite argument offered by the GunPhobes is "The AR-15 is a Military Weapon", while ignoring the fact that EVERY rifle/carbine ever invented, save the Dangerous Game Double Rifle, started life as a Military Rifle.
Thankfully I live in a "2nd Amendment Sanctuary State", Arizona!

[QUOTE="The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."[/QUOTE]

It merits pointing out that in the 18th century, "well regulated" meant effective, accurate or good, depending upon context. It did NOT mean "regulated by the government". This seems nearly always overlooked or dismissed by the anti-gun nuts.

Yep. It's been taken out of context for sure.

Hopping off the 2A for a second, then I'll get back to it...

Pretty sure in the context as discussed, the definition of socialism applies to those who have their hand out, with the expectation some one else will give to them, without them ever having to do anything, even if they are capable of doing something. Some socialists have even warped to "We will take from you so we can have".

That is what is crippling the system.
I've always been taught "It's a hand up, not a hand out". A temporary means of assistance to get you back on your feet.
In the case of honest to God disability, or retirement age, I'm not against social care for those people. That was the original intent.
I am dead set against the abuse of the program and the sense of entitlement that runs rampant through the programs we've established to do good for those in need. People who don't need it, are taking it, leaving less for those that do.
It's the corruption of the definition of need that is killing the good those programs serve. People are confusing the want for a free ride, with the need for one.

At the root of it, is poor personal values, integrity, honesty, a commitment to contribute to, instead of weigh down.

Now, back to 2A. It's utterly bewildering to me what a person can rationalize or justify, due to lack of intelligence, education, or ignorance.

The Left seems to have a problem with guns. But not a problem with coat hangers. They see guns as an instrument of evil. But not the tools that perform abortions. Both are tools. One they paint as a villain. Another they support the use of.

The tools themselves are not where the evil lurks, but the heart of man. Tools can be used for good or bad, until we start addressing the heart of man, the war will rage on.

It all starts with education and upbringing. Get that wrong, and you'll have what we have today.

As a person on Social Security I beg to differ. I had the fica tax taken out of all my wages. Also as a self employed electrical contractor I paid the employees part and the employers part. So I paid for my handout.

As another middle class person, I say thanks for paying your way!

That's exactly my point, as well as my comment about farm subsidies... these are "socialized policies" whether you like it or not and do not have to be bad, demonized things. That's exactly my point. The powers that be, and now I see it, keep divisiveness alive by way of confusion and most discussion about any issue is clouded by intent.
It does relate to 2A issues as I see the same confusion put forth by those that want all guns gone and those that think the 2A is absolute and refuse to do anything about public safety out of protecting their money interests. As is the 1A, it is not, as indicated by other previous posts about automatic weapons, etc.

I particularly like:
"To disarm the people...s the most effectual way to enslave them."
- George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788

"An armed man is a citizen and a disarmed man is a subject".

The Left cannot propagate their socialistic agenda while citizens are armed.

The entire taxation system is theft. If you're a socialist, you're a commie. Period. I'm shocked you even support the Constitution, being a communist/socialist/marxist, since those ideals and systems are completely incompatible with our system of government. This is explains why I'm no longer surprised that you don't FULLY support the 2nd Amendment in its fullest (original) form and wording. It is an UNLIMITED right that is guaranteed to all US citizens...It doesn't even specify whether you're a criminal or not. The fact that the BATFE exists at all, shows how far down the crapper we've allowed our rights to erode. The BATFE, by Constitutional definition, is considered INFRINGEMENT, therefore, its very existence is treason and unconstitutional.

Also, welfare should be dismantled completely.

Just like you said, some of us have paid our dues into the system. I pay mine out of every paycheck I've ever gotten from my normal "9-5" since I was 16 years old. Some jobs paid cash, and that's my business...Nobody else's.

Just like people who talk crap about someone who's had to draw unemployment between jobs... I paid into that crap for 16 years before ever having to draw one penny, and then when I needed it, the system gave me virtually NOTHING, while ignorant lazy pieces of human crap in the ghetto got money and have NEVER held a job. Socialist programs only help the lazy and ignorant. The elderly social programs are a good thing, but it's because most people who can draw them, genuinely paid into the system to get paid in return, in their later years.
