We spotted this buck two days before the Oct. 4 opener. My buddy and I decided to hunt this buck only or go home empty handed. I shot him on the second day of the season within 500yds of where we spotted him before. I used a custom Remington 700 in the 7mmstw to make the 346 yard shot. One shot drop with the 180 gr berger bullet. His right at 29" wide. We packed him out 1.8 miles out of the canyon. I used the kifaru nomad with great success. My 9 year old son helped pack out a front shoulder. It was a total team effort as my buddy wife spotted it the day I harvested the deer. The buck nickname is Rocky. The name came from when we spotted him 1.5 miles away he bedded by the biggest rock on the finger ridge. I was able to see his forks with the 15 power swarovski at that range.
