I have killed plenty of game with EH and VLD, and the longest track job, if you can call it that, was 50 yards. I haven't noticed any difference between their lines of bullets but curious to see if others have.
I have used the 168 grain classic hunters from a 280 Remington and the 140 grain hunting VLD from the 280 and 7-08 and noticed no difference… dead critters
I just chose the bullet that performs the best for a particular rifle. I stay away from target specific bullets for my hunting rifles. The classic hunter fits the bill for my 308, but the VLDH works very well in the 7RM. If the bullet placement is where it should be, I don't think the deer will know the difference. Although I do like bonded cup and core and some mono's for particular situations.
