nosler 55 grain shots 243

I'm going to call you on that...

Begin by explaining why barrels are made in different twists...

(Why not just have a 7 twist for everything?)...

I'll post an article later to explain the reasons for this, but for now, we can just discuss it. :)

Remember, we're talking about long range accuracy... I have not said they won't shoot okay at shorter ranges (to about 250 yards).

Dan

they don't spin faster past 250 yards. they spin faster 0-250 yards.

thanks all:

contacted nosler about 55 grain shots in 243 cal there oal was stated by them at 2.450 which they infomored me was below SAMMI .But suggested this length because off short lenght . thats all i got with reasearch thanks all ..will play with it glad got noselers input were oal was so can go from there..jeffgun)

yeah... that's why I said the stuff 'em in deep. :)

Hornady says they same about their 58 grain VMAX's...

If there gonna shoot well at all, they'll shoot at 2.595" (tip to case head).

But if you're going past 300 yards, go with 70 grainers and about 42 grains of Varget.

Dan

I gave them a try in a ADL cheapie Rem 243. Used Varget and got them to go 4050 fps. Man that bullet unraveled jackrabbits!
