I was wondering if anyone has installed a rail with, say 50MOA, or whatever it would take to use the T in the reticle as a zeroing point. I only ask as it would definitely add huge MOA, but it would also clear the reticle for observation at closer distances?

Dumb thought or what?

How far would you like to shoot? I have two 5.5-22 on a270wby and 300Wm. At 100 yds it only takes + or - 20 moa which is one turn on my scopes .The 270wby is shooting 165 vld at 3192 and still doing 1900 at 1000 yds.
Haveing said said all that a 20 degree base would be plenty for even .308 . I have seen 30 degree base for sale, but if you aren't careful you will be looking at the end of your gun barrel.
Just a thought.

Thanks, I'm just installing mine right now and my base is 20MOA. I do like the extended line above the crosshairs, that's all.
