Newbie reloading suggestions!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is a book to record all your loads in. It is also good to have enough room in the book to note how those loads shot, velocity etc. Good luck with your reloading and be safe.
I have a Lyman manual and they have a page for you to record your loads. in case you are interested.

I keep notes on every load in every gun I've loaded. Bullets, powders primers oal lengths everything!

here is what is possibly the most budget option to start reloading:

I can load up to 30.06 cartridges with a hand press. Brownell's has a better deal right now.

Lee dies are OK. you get the shell holder and a scoop. Use those ear scope funnel things the doctor looks in your ear with.

Powder $20-25 / pound, bullets $20 to $$$ / hundred, primers $4 / hundred, and all this little stuff you need.
Case prep can be simple as steel wool and:

use a slow battery drill or hand and elbow grease.

as an aside the Lee hand loader is cheaper still and you beat the brass in with a $2 rubber mallet.

I started with a Lee loader and a $2 mallet but really don't recommend starting there.
