Hi to all from SA

I happened on this site during my search for a long range scope.
I am waiting for my custom rifle to be completed and need to decide on a decent scope in the 6-20x40 range
Rifle specs: .243 krieger stainless bull barrel 25" on a remington 700 action.

Looking forward to reading and learning from your members.

Welcome to the site.

You might want to look at the Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50mm. I have a couple and they have all the features I need, along with good glass.

I have looked at the Vortex, but they are to expensive here in SA,
compared to a Hawke sidewinder at half the price.
I will be looking at the Hawke next week whilst in Cape Town.
Based on the vortex-hawke comparrison on this forum i feel it might be well worth a look.
Pity we have to miss out on all the nice deals on this forum new and used!!

Welcome aboard!

I would be concerned if less than 50mm on the front end if you tend to hunt at both ends of the day. 44mm may be ok if it's really good glass.

Just my tho'ts.
