My barrel is a #4, would the barrel channel be to wide for this? I don't want a huge gap around the barrel.

I'm not sure.Who's #4 contour? BC is a Rem Varmint/Sendero on the stock.
Try looking on the barrel manufactures website,most all barrel manuf's. Rem/Var/Sendero contours are pretty much the same.
