Good day from the mitten, up near Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan and such. Happily retired and heading for warmer weather and different hunting after New Years. This will the 2nd winter we are heading south and west. Bird dogs and bird hunting, 5 english setters, we hunt grouse and woodcock in Michigan, huns and sharpies in Montana. Here and there we get into a pheasant or two. Want to quail hunt and train dogs in Kansas on our way to Arizona where we will quail hunt and train dogs. We field trial, run mostly Coverdog trials, wild bird trials on grouse and woodcock. We do run some throw down quail stakes in Michigan after the coverdog circuit is complete. We fish and hike. The avatar is Gordie, our first bird dog. He left us about this same day in 2014. We actually lost another setter a couple months earlier while hunting in Montana. That was a shocker.
