I'm glad to see another 6mm-06! I run a 27" Broughton 5c barrel with a 1x8 twist. My favorite load of Retumbo has an 107g SMK going 3400+fps. I think it is a great cartridge. It will send an 87g Vmax down range at 3750+fps. My 1x8 twist prefers the 107g SMK load. My local range only goes to 600 yds so I have not tried them at 1000 yds yet. If I can get a weekend off before the summer heat sets in I'll head out to the desert and see how it performs at longer ranges.

As Naymola said above look at .240 Weatherby for ideas on loads, which is pretty much a 6mm-06 with a belt, different shoulder and long freebore. Start low.
