Need a gunsmith for a ruger

Never dissuade a man from an equipment upgrade, however before declaring a barrel dead with likely less than 4k rounds through it I would give it a good deep clean with Hoppes Copper Solvent and check all screws along with bedding. Once the barrel is squeaky clean run bore scope or simply look with a bright light. Fire cracking or severely worn leade confirms time to change, but we've saved more than a few with a good soak.

If I were you I'd ship the rifle to Ruger. They could go over the whole rifle and update as needed, while it's there getting a factory fresh new Ruger barrel. It would also cost less than going with a match barrel which would make the rifle non-original.

Just a thought.
This is what I did with a tang safety Mod 77 in .308Win.
Cheaper and faster than the other options plus it is a tack driver.
I just shipped them the barreled receiver and they did the work and refinished the receiver to match the new barrel.
