Nebraska counter tag for whitetail or mule deer

Hello all,
Does anyone have any pointers or recommendations on what public land is best for whitetail or mule deer in Nebraska? Im considering the south west part of the state but open to anywhere. Also would be interested in pheasant. Thank you in advance

No experience in the southwest part of the state. I live on the east side, but hunted 3 years in the northwest corner. Decent amount of public land and lots of deer if your willing to put the miles in! Pheasant... I'd like to know if you find some hahahah
