NAS3 7.62x51

After playing with these for a while I dont think I will continue with them. I am getting much better results with alpha brass

I just got some of these cases. Same thing on the resizing for me.

I'm using them in the same rifle, so I tried neck sizing. It sorta worked. The base looks a little stretched and I'm not going to risk it.

I'm going to try a couple other ideas and will keep everyone posted on results.

I love the case capacity and idea that the velocities of a 308 can beat a 30-06.

I have not tried the Alpha brass.

I spoke with the owner about 6 months ago. As far as I know the 9mm brass is reloadable with a special sizing die. The rest of the brass wasn't at that time. Part of the reason is the "wave" built into the brass internally at the base of the brass.

My initial testing got the 175gr LRX up to 2767 fps with Varget. This is right in the max zone for 30-06.

I believe there is room to go and hopefully another accuracy node in the 2850 area.

Here is the ladder test:
308-175LRX-Varget.png

In my rifle: Good accuracy around 2600 fps and 2680 fps

I will very carefully go up one more grain and report back.

If I can hit 2800+ and find accuracy, I will likely NOT push any further with this load combo.

The website says its not reloadable. But we will see
They are reloadable on 5 th firing same case.. you are using wrong neck sizing die .. I'm neck sizing them back to normal with a neck sizing die …

2750 fps is the area my 308 win 24" PSS gets with 175gr smk or cc. 2850fps is the area I get with the 30-06 with 175gr. Hodgdon lists 180gr TSX BT in the 2840 fps range. I loaded with regular Nosler or Federal cases with the 30-06. Pretty much the same with 308 except added some LC brass. I haven't even tried srp brass yet in the 308 win.
