Can anyone give me an idea where I should be with N570 in my 338 RUMs? My current loads are 100 grs of RL33 with 285 gr ELDM and 99 gr with 300 gr OTM and 300 NAB. I have no complaints with the RL33, I am just wanting something more temp stable. My 285's are going 2940 and the 300's are going 2830, both with very good accuracy and ES.

Have you had issues with temp stability or are you going off of forum guys? Berger lists 85.5-90 gr for 300otm out of 338 lapua. Usually 3-4gr LESS for the Rum. I'd try 82-87, but don't take my word for it :) This is not from experience. Just taking stuff off berger website.

I'm at 101.5 grains of n570 in MY 338 RUM with 250 grain bergers. Muzzle velocity is 3075 FPS. Please be cautious as this is a max load in my rifle. Work up accordingly.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I seat my bullets long, so I am able to run more powder than most 338 Lapua's. My current loads with RL33 are very good loads, but I have always heard that N570 is the powder to have. So now I have some and I will see if it lives up to the hype.

I tried the 300 Berger's with RL33. I only got just shy of 2700 FPS before I hit pressure. I can't remember how many grains of powder for sure, but I'm thinking it was 96. I'm using Remington brass.

I went all the way up to 102 grs of RL33 with the 300 gr Berger and Rem brass, but the accuracy node was at 99. I am now shooting Betram brass and max load with the 300 gr Berger is 100, and accuracy is at 99 and 2830 fps. I am seated to 3.800 oal. I am excited to try the N570 for it's temp stability and hopefully it will be close in velocity.

I can't remember what my COAL was with either load and I'm not home to look it up. I do know I'm 40 thou off the lands and I have to operate as a single shot. If you're going to try the n570, be sure to have a drop tube. My load won't fit in the case without one.

Once you work up a load for it, be sure to post back here what you come up with. I'm interested in revisiting the 300 grain Berger with n570 this time.

I will probably try the 285 ELDM and the 300 Berger, since I have a lot of both. Snow storm is brewing, so maybe I will have some time to load some shells. I have a 3.825 wyatts box, so I try to load everything as a repeater.

A buddy just worked up a load for a 338 rum today using remmy brass, 215 primers and H-1000 with 250 bergers. He hit pressure at 97 grs and settled on 95 grs with 3092 fps. He was loaded .030 off the lands. Sub .5 moa.

My 338 Rum is almost done. I'm set up to run 3.900" @ lands w/ 300 bergers and 3.835" w/ edlm or eldx bullets. Freebore is long enough that if I try 250gr or lighter I'll be a mile off the lands. Had it opened up for a cfe9 4" magazine. Has a 28" proof 1:9.4tw barrel. Terminus helios w/ TT special, ag composites Feratta thumbhole, ti beast 5 port brake. It's getting coated right now, hope to pick up after Christmas. I have a pile of N570, RL26, N565 to try. Also a little Retumbo and ramshot LRT.
