Bowhunting is awesome. Unlike most, I started bowhunting then moved to guns. As long as you're out enjoying creation and spending time with family, that's what it's really all about.

Get back to working on this rifle though. Having produced the inspiration for it, I'm very interested in your continued success with your rifle.

Just so you're aware, I've been hunting with my nephew's rifle this year as I am temporarily without a carry-rifle. Shooting the 168grain Berger hybrids, the rifle has been tremendously successful.

I finally got to reach out farther than I ever have before, 300 yards. Which I know is much less than most of you guys are able to shoot, but I live in WNC-- not a lot of 1000 yard shots here. She did exceptionally well.

Congrats on a 300yard shot. Although that's not far as some guys shoot, it's still a tough shot. My cousin missed a nice buck this year from 280 yards...MISSED! I couldn't believe it.

I had a guy who wanted my stock, and I was wanting a change anyway... I'm going backwards here! I free floated it and I'm going to at least try it. I never use a bipod and it would be awesome to have a super lightweight stock. I talked trash about these stocks for years, as have everyone else, but the 243 in the picture groups like a dream. I have learned that it is best to shoot it a few times and at least see where you stand before you start buying parts.

As much as I would love to be in a location where I can shoot distance, it's just not in the books for me. My longest shots are possibly 250 yards. Therefore we now have a free floated sps stock and a Leupold 3-9. We'll see how it shoots and go from there.

oh...too short-sighted. It's like Field of Dreams. If you build it, the opportunities will come.

Orrrrrrrr keep one to hunt with and then build another one in case that opportunity came. Because that's always the logical answer when deciding on rifles.

Although as I mentioned, I feel more at home with this than most rifles.

Opening day of bow season it came in nose to the ground with me hunting from the ground, no blind. Turned broadside at 30 yards. Bad move.

Got a deal on this on the Facebook Remington 700 Traders Page.
