My son’s buck

Wow, great story. Where there's a will there is a way. You and your son and everyone who experienced this with you have a lifelong memory. The trophy is amazing, but the story would be no less impact full (to me) if you would have closed the deal on a 1-1/2 year old buck. Very inspiring.
 
CONGRATS on the deer and the dedication you and your family put into this. Great buck, bad knee and all I bet it would take a belt sander to get the smiles off both your faces......

I drag the boy out across a stubble field through a pasture and up on top of a knoll over looking a soybean field. We glasses for about two hours several other smaller bucks had filtered out in front of us and started feeding away. They were getting out there quite a ways. All of a sudden a huge bodied deer appears on a ridge I ask him is that him? He replied I think so!!! I move my spotting scope onto him and it's him. I tell him he's not getting any closer and we are going to be running out of light you have to take the shot. I range him at 593yds he dials the scope. I ask him if he is perfectly steady and remind him to watch the bullet hit the deer just squeeze. He shoot's immediately the buck buckles both front shoulders are done the buck plows forward and is down. This was too perfect words cannot express what I felt for him. Congrats young man. Not only did you take a great buck but you now have a story book hunt of a life time. Plus a great memorable hunt with your dad. That's the greatest thing ever. With I could have just one more hunt with my dad.
 
This is freaking awesome! Never quit and never give up. My Boy had a football game 4 hrs. from home Friday before opening day of rifle, home at 1:30am and up at 5am. thankful no injuries, He killed a dandy Blacktail buck we will post about later. I hope your boy makes a full recovery and wish you both the best. Jason
