Muzzle Velocity 24inch barrell vs 26 inch barrell

I have been shooting some Hornady 165 gr SST factory loads in my Savage 116 300 win. with a 26 inch. barrell.They shoot great, but I was wondering. They are rated at 3100 fps at the muzzle and most maufactures test there mag. ammo out of a 24 inch barrell. What is the gain in muzzle velocity if any, from a 26 inch. barrell. I dont have access to a chronograph.

Should be around 75 fps.......Rich

It depends on the caliber and powder but usually you get between 30 and 50 fps per inch. I agree that in your case around 75 fps will be close.
