What is the most efficient seating depth test for Berger Elite Hunters (175 7mm to be specific )? With component scarcity, I would prefer to not shoot 30-50 doing the every 5 thou routine. Not looking for the most accurate depth, just accurate enough.

This is a hybrid design. They are usually not seating depth sensitive. I have loaded quite a few hybrids in factory and customs. I suggest you seat the bullet as long as possible to fit and feed from magazine. Work up powder charge. You will most likely find an accurate load.

To date I have loaded them in the following hybrids and none have required any seating depth tweaking:

6mm: 105 and 95 6BR(2 rifles) 6mm-284 (3)
6.5 140 6.5 creedmoor (2)
7mm 168 and 180 7 RUM (1) 7-375 Ruger (1) 7 rem mag (5) 284 win (1)
30 cal168, 215 and 230 30BR (1) 308 30-06 (1) 300 win mag (4) 300 RUM (1)
338 338-375 Ruger (1) 338 RCM (2)

From jam to .065 off.........clear as mud? 🤪 😂

I used them for my cousin in a Seekins havak 6.5 creedmoor. Pretty consistently .6-.7 moa @ .040 jump which was max magazine length. 2.890 I think.

Right up against the lands shrunk a little to I'd say .4-.5 moa.

I have found most Berger's including the Hybrids like around .030 off the lands in most guns I have loaded for. However, there are the exceptions which it is worth while in the long run to test using the Berger recommended method for finding the best seating depth.
