In commemoration of its 125th anniversary, Boone and Crockett Club has released an historic list of the top 125 trophy counties across the United States. Montana's main claim to trophy fame is for its wide dispersion of trophy bighorn sheep.
Montana, Granite County—134 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Sanders County—132 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Blaine County—73 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Fergus County—54 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Deer Lodge County—46 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Missoula County—46 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Ravalli County—41 bighorn sheep in B&C records
Montana, Lewis & Clark County—40 bighorn sheep in B&C records
I thought posting this info might assist anyone who wants to hunt bighorn sheep in Montana to know which Counties offer the best opportunities for a Boone and Crockett trophy.
