mod 70 Ultimate Shadow stock issues

I have a bit of a rookie question. The recoil lug on my factory mod 70 stock is factory bedded yet without the front and rear screws in , the action will rock back and forth on the recoil lug! It is noticeable so my concern is that when I install and re-torque will I be stressing the stock and causing poor accuracy? Does any one have any ideas other than a complete bed job.

Went through the same thing . Had the gun glass and pillar bedded. When all things were done should have just purchased a bell and carson . Would have been cheaper and had a better stock.

Ya . In my mind I knew that , but my Scottish heritage said "there may be a cheaper easier way" lol. Thanks for you input.
