millett trs-1?

Doing research. Is the trs-1 the best bang for the buck in the under $500 range? Seems like a lot of people like it. I found it at a great price also. Was really looking into a Vortex Viper but the price bug got me and wanted some more input. The scope I get will be going on a savage weather warrior .308 and I would like to shoot up to 800 yards? Is that ok with this Millet 4-16x50? Where would some one put the glass in comparison to? Also if someone would like to make recommendations on a base and rigs.

Do a google search on Millet scope problems, then try the same search for a vortex scope. I have Millet LRS, it has it's attributes but I don't think I'll be buying another.

The one I have is this one but with supposedly 1/8min clicks
